Kitchen Renovation

This city girl is having a hard time! Since our old dishwasher decided to grace us with a small wading pool underneath our kitchen floor, we have been forced to do some kitchen renovations. Not only did the water destroy our kitchen floor, it caused damage to our cabinets and island as well. Thankfully, we discovered the water before it caused any damage to the sub floor. Since over half my kitchen has been gutted, we have decided to take advantage and finally do some other updates that we've had on our wish list of things to do someday. We are having a tile back splash put in , as well as replacing the sink, faucet and lighting fixtures. By the time it is all said and done, I, oh I mean we, will have a brand new kitchen. The only exception is the fridge and stove. For now, until the new cabinets and sink come in, this city girl is learning how to rough it. As my friend Carrie puts it, I should just pretend that I am camping. What she doesn't seem to realize is that I don't camp! Wish me luck! :)

Here is a before picture and my current reality. Please note the pink tub sitting on top of the disconnected dishwasher. That is now known as the kitchen sink. Well, pink is my signature color!!!! For those of you who know me best and love me, picture me on the deck with my pink wash tub, doing the dishes! Ok, ok, you can quit laughing!!!!!!!!
