"Little Chef"

Matthew's preschool class took a field trip to the Young Chef's Academy. As usual, Matthew was pretty geeked about getting to ride on a school bus. He was a little concerned about what they were going to be making once they got there because at one point he asked, "Mommy, what if we make veggies. You know I really don't like veggies. They're yucky!" Much to his relief, he discovered that they would be making bread sticks, not veggies. Chef Kim and Chef Karen were great as they led the preschoolers through the steps to make their bread sticks. All of the children got to help measure, stir, knead and roll the dough before popping their creations in the oven to bake. While they were waiting for their treats to come out of the oven, they played "Pass the Hot Jalapeno", in other words, "Hot Potato" with a chili pepper hot pad. Matthew was quite the passer, which paid off with his being the last one standing. Yeah Matthew! Once the bread sticks were out of the oven and cooled, the children gobbled them down, loaded themselves on to the bus and headed back to school. Overall Matthew really enjoyed the experience. We are talking about going back this summer and inviting Aunt Carrie and her crew! Won't that be fun...5 kids and only 2 mommies. I wonder if they will let us bring wine?! :) Click here to check out the pictures of his trip.

Sadie

Well, it's official. Sadie is now a member of the Meister clan! There is a lot to be said about adopting a full grown dog, rather than a puppy. She is already potty trained, knows most basic commands and only chews on her toys-not my furniture. All of us love her immensely. The funniest part is that I was the only member of this family that didn't want a dog, yet, guess who Sadie has bonded with the most. Yes, that would be me. She is like my little shadow. Everywhere I go, she goes! She is very sweet and I have to admit that I enjoy our evenings when the boys are in bed sleeping, and she is laying quietly at my feet while Michael and I are chilling out. She is a wonderful addition to our family, and it is especially nice to finally have another female in the house!
