Matthew's Spring Soccer

Matthew did a great job with his first season of soccer. He loves playing the game and has even asked about maybe taking some summer clinics. He is signed up for fall already and can hardly wait to get back on the field.

Here is his Royal Goofiness, not paying attention to the coach when he should be. What a ham!

Matthew in action........

To celebrate a job well done, Coach Decker ordered medals for each one of the boys on the team. Matthew was thrilled to say the least. He was the first one called up and was absolutely beaming with that big, beautiful smile of his.

This is one proud little man!!!!!!!!

My Soccer Star

Well, spring soccer season is in full swing and both of my guys are in their full glory! I still love watching both of them play and get just as excited as they do if they score a goal. Stephen has really stepped up his game and is showing a true interest in pursuing the sport long term. He still amazes me with how quick and agile he is on the field. I'm sure that's due to the fact that he has absolutely no body fat! The pictures are from his last game. Stephen scored 2 goals and assisted on a third. He had a couple of great saves when he was the goalie as well. Enjoy the pictures!

Check out the thigh muscle on this kid. Unbelievable!

He is so long and lanky, but cute as a button!

Just try to get one past me! I dare you! He was actually probably wondering if the game was almost over so that he could hit the concession stand, but we'll give him the benefit of the doubt.

One of his saves. Way to use those shin guards!

Another save in which he proceeded to drop kick the ball all the way to the other team's goal. I'm telling you, his legs may be skinny but they are powerful!

Ode to a sunny spring day...

Blowing bubbles for Sadie to chase.

BZZZZZZZZZZZZ!

Barefoot and not a care in the world!

Boys and their bugs!

Dirt, glorious dirt!

Easter Fun

Boy oh boy, Stephen and Matthew look like they are ready for some serious egg decorating!

Nice Stephen! He was so proud of himself because he could fit the whole egg in his mouth!

Stephen got very caught up in all of the State frenzy during March Madness!

On the hunt for the eggs the Easter Bunny hid.

Catching up...

Sorry for being away for so long. As most of you know by now, there have been a lot of changes in our family. While the last few months have been difficult, we have managed to have some happy things happen as well. Here are a few of our happy moments.

Here is Matthew on Christmas morning checking out his goodies from Santa. We had been asking Matthew for weeks what he was going to ask Santa to bring him. His answer each time..."Santa knows already mommy. You'll see when he brings it." Santa was keeping his fingers crossed for a happy outcome.

Score 1 for Santa. This is one happy little boy!

Well, it was good while it lasted. Santa tanked on this one! Fortunately, by the end of the morning, the remote control dinosaur was a hit. That was a close one!

Here is Stephen in one of his silly "I'm being a ham" moods. He has the plastic tag from one of his gifts stuck to his nose. What a goofball! That's why we love him so much.

Score BIG for Santa! Stephen had been asking for a DSI since October.

Stephen checking out his new gadget. It took him all of 5 minutes to set it up. I didn't even know how to turn it on. Amazing!

Sadie chillin' out with her gift from Santa. That's our girl!

Hard to believe, but Stephen turned 10 in January. Happy, Happy Birthday big guy! I hope you know how much you are loved.

February 17th, Stephen got to play his recorder with some of his 4th grade classmates during a school music concert. Here are a couple of clips for your listening enjoyment!

Morning Splendor

This was the image I was greeted with as I pulled out of my driveway a couple mornings ago. It was so gorgeous that I had to run back in and grab my camera. It's simple moments like this that remind me that God is watching and that I am blessed!

Enjoying Mother Nature

A couple of weekends ago, we ventured out to the Portage Nature Preserve to soak up some of the beautiful fall sunshine. What a great way to spend the day. Sadie even got to tag along and enjoyed exploring the local terrain. By the time we got home, she was one pooped out pup! By the way, your eyes are not playing tricks on you. There are 3 children in the picture. Stephen's buddy Chase went with us. Even though most of the leaves had already dropped from the trees, it was still lovely to wander in and out of the many trails taking in some of Mother Nature's beauty.

Some of the local wildlife.

Love this and love him!!!!!!

OOOH, LA, LA !!!! ;0)
